Take a peek inside my tackle box: CLAYS & LIQUIDS.

Padico La Doll Premier Clay and Staedtler Fimo Puppen Clay on desk
La Doll Series Premier stone clay by Padico... I swear by this stuff. All my statues were made with Premier. The new clay I'm experimenting with is Fimo Puppen, a polymer clay by Staedtler. My latest Bruce Lee statues are made with Fimo Puppen, (Classic and Soft--Fimo's flagship products)in combination with Premier.
Liquitex Gesso, Krazy glue, Jo Sonja All Purpose Sealer and Sculpey translucent liquid on desk
I currently use Liquitex Gesso as a primer on my statues. In the past it was Mr. Surfacer's 1200. Sculpey's Translucent liquid sculpey is perfect for filling in those cracks, nooks and crannies. Also used for merging raw or baked polymer clays is a must. I mix Chroma's Jo Sonja All Purpose Sealer with acrylic paints or applied after painting. It dries transparent and prevents paint chipping. Krazy glue works great with stone and polymer clays. I use it in tandem with Aleene's Original Tacky Glue on differnt surfaces (metal, leather), objects (wood, aluminum, steel) and fabrics.
Winsor Newton Satin Varnish Aerosol, Liquitex Professionla Matte Varnish aerosol and Mr. Surfacer 1200 by Mr. Hobby Gunze on desk
On my latest Bruce Lee statues, I will be using Winsor Newton's Satin Varnish on skin and hair and Liquitex Professional Matte Varnish on skin and clothes along with Jo Sonja's All Purpose Sealer. Mr. Surfacers 1200 is a great primer. After a few coats plus sanding in between, the primed piece will feel and look like a model kit--silky smooth to the touch. Only drawback is the strong fumes which led me to the pleasantry of gesso.
