PAGE THREE: THE MAKING OF MISTER LEE, A PHOTO JOURNAL.
Broke some teeth. It was inevitable really... my subconscious wanted to break them so I would have to redo the face and be done with the mental battle.
The revised work wasn't any better. The balance between facial and body expression was completely lost now. I really hate the feeling of panic and regret rolled into one. What is the term?
I buckled down and pumped out a new set of eyes. You know that feeling when fishing and you feel something nibbling at the bait? This was it.
Before finalizing the face, I moved on to finish the catsuit. Adding the knotted sleeves to the rolled down torso portion of it. The cuffs were challenging.
Here I experimented with painting on doll hair on top of the sculpted hairpiece. It turned out decent. The softness looked quite convincing. At a distance, the illusion works even better.
With all the minor revisions done and the statue near completion, I usually take a day or so to do nothing but shoot photos of it. The shine on the skin is a coat semi-gloss acrylic, by the way.
I'm bound to find something I missed.
Wow wow! I really lucked out this time.
Reattaching the chain after three weeks was a huge milestone. Next up, how to make the chain and secondary stick appear to be in mid motion. Hmm. A real long hmmmmmmmm... then stomach ache!
The only way realistically would be coating the entire chain in glue. It worked like a charm but the effect and happiness wouldn't last.
