Mister LEE
   MAKING THE STATUE

PAGE FOUR: THE MAKING OF MISTER LEE, A PHOTO JOURNAL.

Two images side by side by side of the miniature statue full body and the other the torso and head focusing on the nunchaku in motion
The problem was the weight of the second stick folding down on itself.. it's gradual but annoying as hell!
One image of concept artwork of the base for Mister LEE to stand on
I knew eventually the chain would have to be remade so I enjoyed taking these shots. Pretty cool that the second stick was positionable.
Four images in a collage showing the step by step process on the making of the base with two dragons and the ENTER THE DRAGON movie title
On to the base. This was an early concept to place one of those big water valves from Han's lair behind Mister LEE. The handle would be a switch that turns on the LED lighting for the movie title. Over ambitious? Yep.
Three images showing the base in the final steps of arranging the position of the stone clay dragons
Decided to keep it simple yet elaborate and full of details to balance the Mister LEE statue piece. The iconic ENTER THE DRAGON poster would be the source of my inspiration. An homage rather and it's still a mystery who made it.
Two images on top of one another shoing the detailed golden dragons on each sides of the base
Had considered at great length the idea of the two dragons resting above the movie title by his feet.
One image of conceptual artwork of the back of the base consisting of a large head in the middle which is to be Han, the villain of the movie
From a design standpoint, golden dragons attached to each side of the base would fill up all that negative space.
Four images showing the step by step process in making the finished base with Han's head on the back with two mini golden headpieces at his left and right
What to do with the back? One look at the iconic ENTER THE DRAGON poster... HAN!
Three images side by side by side of full body shots of Mister LEE standing on the base with various lighting
The two little golden headpieces were the most challenging pieces to make on the entire base. See the latest gallery shots--link below.
